my dollhouse

so, i got this dollhouse for my 9th christmas from "santa". it came in a box that was about 3 inches wide and 14 inches long. my dad started building it later that year and got the skeleton finished and painted the outside. it, then, stayed sitting in our garage for 20 years. last year, when my dad moved i took and am very slowly finishing it. it's one of those lifelong projects i guess. i have since repainted the exterior differently,, he painted it in the late 80's, so it was a little dated. i have almost finished the interior trim and stairs. but, it is so hard, because it's such intricate work and it's really hard to get into the little awkward places. i don't know how they paint such tiny details in these things? anyways, i am doing an, of course, victorian style, early 1900's, and i am getting more and more excited. i am looking online at all these different websites for furniture and accessories and, of my gosh, they have the coolest things to buy for these dollhouses, down to the teeniest details. it's so expensive though, some of the furniture is just as expensive as a normal piece of furniture would cost, but you could seriously spend some major money.... a piece at a time i guess? it's going to be so fun to work on throughout the next few years, and who knows, maybe i will one day have a little girl for her to enjoy?

the wood floors that my dad installed are AWESOME. he laid the floor and hammered in little nail holes on each plank of wood, so it looks so real and like little individual nail holes.

That is amazing. I would have died for that as a kid. Have you checked ebay for better deals on dollhouse furniture?
